Happy December everyone! We're finally at the last 31 days of the year so let's make them count! Instead of limiting our efforts to the various events this month, let's spread the love all month by doing something good for someone else everyday. The advent calendar are just some ideas, if something really cool pops into your head that you want to do instead, go for it! Just don't forget to share it on social media with #KeyClubKindness.

We've been doing well with our service projects so far, from helping make packs for the homeless to cleaning up our local streets. Thank you to all that have participated! With pictures coming up, grab your key club shirt (or another red shirt) and your best smile to meet us for pictures at 10:50.
Congrats Knights, we've officially made it through a whole quarter of service projects! Enjoy your break and remember that our next meeting will be October 22nd, the Tuesday two weeks after we get back from break. Also, don't forget to pitch in $2 for our pizza party if you're interested. Have a safe break and we'll see you in a few weeks.
Welcome, everyone! This year our club is kicking off strong with two service events and many more members to do them with!
This month, we have two upcoming service projects: a cleanup project at Power Ranch Elementary and the Ken Vandehei Golf Tournament on the 14th and 21st respectively. The clean up at Power Ranch will involve cleaning up the school and be one shift with transportation. The golf tournament, however, will have 3 different shifts ranging from early morning to early afternoon. Duties will include set up, helping to manage the event, and clean up after the fact. Hey everyone! Scholarships can be hard to find, especially at this time of year, luckily Queen Creek Kiwanis has us covered. While we're not in their Kiwanis chapter, they've been kind enough to help us out. It's a $1,000 scholarship for seniors attending college in the fall and have GPAs between a 3.0 and a 4.0. If you fit that criteria, fill out an application and submit it by April 20th, 2019. Good luck to all applicants! ![]()

This year was full of lots of great memories! Here's to many more next year. Hello everyone! I am very happy to say that there are scholarships you can get from being in Key Club. In this post I'll be going over all 3, so if one or all strike your fancy then be sure sure to fill out the included application forms. Bartoo Scholarship The Dean Bartoo scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship available for all members of Key Club. To earn this one you must have Mrs. Bryant sign your point sheet, include 2 letters of recommendation with one of them being from her, and attach your transcript. ![]()
Skinner Scholarship The Joan Skinner Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship for those of us who are planning on going to a trade school. To earn this you need to attach answers to questions included in the form, copies of official Higley transcripts, outside technical educational credits, and 3 Letters of Recommendation: one from Mrs. Bryant, one from a counselor or teacher, and one from a teacher or professional in the field you plan to pursue. ![]()
Vocational/Technical Scholarship This scholarship is essentially a lower level Skinner scholarship with the only differences being less questions to answer and not requiring a letter from Mrs. Bryant. ![]()
All of these require at least a C average and must be mailed in by March 3rd of this year.
Not seeing what you need? Here's a link that contains information for even more scholarship oppurtunities for our seniors: http://www2.kiwanis.org/childrensfund/impact-and-programs/scholarship-opportunities?_zs=W8Dge1&_zl=MnVW4#.Wnt6H-jwbIU Hello everyone! By everyone is quite familiar with Feed My Starving Children however, everytime we've gone, our group has done a FMSC packing event we were always accompanied by a few other groups representing other people or organizations. This FMSC event will be different however, as it will be exclusively members of Key Clubs from across Arizona. This offers an amazing oppurtunity to meet new, like-minded people while having fun and making a difference.
Interested? The event will be from 8:30 to 10pm on February 2nd. To sign up go to the following link: http://volunteer.fmsc.org/Register/Group/JoinGroup.aspx?gid=1282934#.WmKW1ainGM9 That's all for this post. Thank you for keeping up with Key Club! |
